As an expat in the Netherlands, planning a home renovation can be very daunting. Sven and the team from We Build 4 You have been extremely helpful in assisting us with getting the approval we need from the gemeente to make changes to our apartment. I was able to have an (online) meeting with Sven within a couple of days of first contacting them. Sven was very patient and friendly and answered all my questions (and in English!). I was kept informed throughout the entire process and never had to follow-up with them for feedback. Communication was clear and the waiting times short. As a non-native to the Netherlands, living in the protected historical city centre of Leiden, the prospect of dealing with Dutch building regulations and environmental permit application processes was extremely daunting. I only wanted a small shed, but my location produced several complications which I could not tackle alone. We Build 4 You helped me with the construction calculation and environmental permit application, based on my own drawings and plans. I initially got quotes from dozens of places offering construction calculations, and WB4Y were by far the best value for money: Fast, professional, cheap. There were some hiccups when it came to the permit application, which delayed the process (also probably due to some COVID disruptions). But they were solved easily enough once brought to attention. Overall this did not negatively impact my experience. I was quite particular with my needs, which didn’t make the process easy, but they were always there to answer questions, provide advice, and explain things to me in English. This also allowed me to learn a lot during the process, so I am more well informed for the next time. That being said, I hope I never have to get an environmental permit for construction again in this country! But if I did, I would seriously recommend Dennis and his team.
