After sharing all my information and being on the waiting list, I was finally asked which morning I wanted lessons. I couldn't find any information stating that lessons were only available in the morning (and since I do go to school, this isn't possible). When I asked, "Do you only have lessons in the morning?", I was met with a passive-aggressive response of "Yes, Thessa." It's a bit odd that this wasn't mentioned anywhere.

Writing a Google review about a company isn't something you do often, unless someone has a negative experience. Yet, a company with good service, price, quality, and communication deserves a good review. That's exactly what you get at De Veluwe Driving School. But what does that entail? 1. Interactive theory lessons tailored to cars and motorcycles. 2. Peace of mind. 3. They always take (extra) time for you. 3. High-quality lessons on various topics. 4. You get to see the most beautiful and enjoyable roads. 5. Always accompanied by a motorcycle, if you're taking lessons on your own. In my case, it took me a bit longer to take motorcycle lessons because the CBR (Central Office for Motor Vehicle Driver Testing) took time to process the health declaration. This gave me time to get to know the driving school well and helped me arrive at these 5 points. The theory lessons are truly excellent. You bring a device that's online and you can practice your driving theory. Ask questions on the screen and answer with your device. Of course, you can also use paper if you prefer. After the test, the answers will be discussed. I can naturally get quite frustrated when something doesn't work out. Gerard has the gift of not getting worked up, but he conveys that. This is also reflected in the time he takes when discussing your route. Be careful, he sees everything! From the traffic around you to any mistakes you make. The advantage of this is that difficult traffic situations are reported early on, so even as a beginner, you can react in time. As a beginner, you also need examples of driving techniques, such as positioning on the road, cornering, looking, etc. Gerard always rides along on his motorcycle and can always provide that example if needed. Something that isn't possible if you're accompanied by a car. Because of the motorcycle guidance, you'll also get to places you wouldn't normally go by car. I enjoyed the rides on the highway, the Posbank, the dikes along the IJssel River, and the ride in the dark (always a bit longer than the one-hour lesson) the most. Therefore, 5 stars!

Driving school "De Veluwe" gets 5 stars from me because they more than deserve it. I took motorcycle lessons with Gerard and he taught me in a very pleasant and clear way. He takes all the time for you, has the patience of a saint, and the lessons usually run a little over time. I also went on some wonderful rides there, including the route across the Posbank after passing my AVB exam and then, in the run-up to my AVD exam, a two-hour-plus IJssel route. And... Gerard really sees everything! You can't fool him because he even knows what gear you're in and whether or not you're using the foot brake correctly. So if you really want to learn to ride a motorcycle well (and safely), you've definitely come to the right place!
