Complaint – Refusal of Service Despite Service Contract (Discrimination and Negligence) I would like to file an official complaint about the way your company has treated us over the past two days. We have a service contract, and yet your company refuses to provide the agreed-upon service. They don't show up, we're ignored, there are no return calls, and no solution is offered. This is unacceptable. Moreover, this concerns a 76-year-old who has been left out in the cold for two days. This is not only poor service, but also downright inhumane and irresponsible. What makes it especially painful is that we strongly feel we are being deliberately ignored because we are foreigners and because of our accent. I've lived in the Netherlands for 25 years, but you don't always lose an accent—and that should never be a reason to treat people differently. I consider this pure discrimination and a disgrace for a company that claims to provide service. Your company is not only discriminating against foreigners, but also letting down older people. I expect you to take this seriously and contact us as soon as possible to resolve this issue immediately. They've left an 87-year-old single man without heating or hot water for a week and a half. Hoppenbrouwers and Woonmeij are simply letting this man, who is prone to pneumonia, drool over. Van Thiel used to be a true service company; now they're just fumbling around with water pumps and sustainability improvements, but a tenant of 50 years is simply left to fend for himself. Karma. Update: Finally resolved! Just before the -5-degree night, and home care can give him a shower again!

"Insulate, insulate, insulate" was the first recommendation. And we did. Floors, walls, windows, roof, etc., etc. Van Thiel truly performed exceptionally well in renovating our house. They provided excellent, helpful advice, expert advice, and also excellent execution: new plumbing, underfloor heating, air conditioning, etc., etc. Thank you, Jarni, Ruud, Johan, Jo, and Rob. Thanks to you, we were able to get everything done relatively quickly, and it's now much more pleasant to live and work here.

I requested a maintenance contract for my central heating and solar panels. After calling several times, I finally scheduled an appointment for the inspection. After the inspection, I received no further information about whether a maintenance contract was possible. I contacted them several times. I was told "We'll call you back today," but after waiting five weeks, I still haven't received a response. I did receive the invoice and indicated I would only pay it after receiving a response, but I still haven't heard anything.

I called about the constant refilling of my mother's central heating boiler. She rents from a housing association. I was supposed to check for leaks in the radiators first before calling back. "A different technician is coming for the central heating boiler than for a leaking radiator...", the young man on the phone explained. Then, when I gave them a day and time slot, it turned out they couldn't call me 15 minutes in advance. My mother has dementia and can no longer manage this herself. So I had to stay at my mother's house from 8:00 to 12:30...as if I had nothing else to do as a caregiver. When I asked why, I received a vague answer that it had (strangely enough) led to miscommunication in the past. I don't think this is very helpful and thought the company was much more responsive to customers when it was called Van Thiel Optimaal. They did call 15 minutes in advance so we could both arrive at my mother's house at the same time.
