The shop explanation went very well, as did the measuring. Installation. We were unlucky. The guy who was supposed to install it wasn't very enthusiastic. I drilled one into the plastic window frames, which we had agreed would be mounted to the ceiling. I hadn't pushed the blind into the mounting properly, and it kept coming out. I was supposed to control it with my mobile phone, but it didn't work. I came back a week later to fix everything. I saw from 6 meters away that the mounting was broken, and I still didn't know how to use the mobile phone control. I went back again, and they said they would come back. After hearing nothing for a few weeks, I called and was told everything was fine. Later, I received an email telling me to call someone else. He pushed the blind into the mounting properly and installed everything with my mobile phone. I ordered everything in February, and everything was fine in October.

We had a Renson Lapure awning installed, as well as other screens with solar panels controlled by Somfy. We are extremely satisfied with the entire process, including communication about delivery times and installation. Van Houts employs skilled professionals; highly recommended.

In response to the review below: with the help of a former Van Houts employee who had picked up this message, the problem has now been resolved quite quickly and easily. Had Van Houts themselves tried a little harder (although this was ultimately due to my negative review), we would have put everything right again. Various responses have since revealed that we are unfortunately not the only ones who have had this experience with not responding to emails and not resolving problems. In 2017, we had Van Houts install several roller shutters and a veranda on our house. All to our complete satisfaction. Until 2022, when we noticed that some of the lighting under the veranda was no longer working. And then you think, "Oh well, a broken bulb, maybe a transformer; a minor issue that Van Houts will quickly fix." But between the first report in September 2022 and now (March 2, 2024!), we've sent more than 20 emails and made several phone calls, without any results. All sorts of excuses have been made (both for not resolving the problem and for repeatedly failing to respond to questions). "We've stopped working with the supplier of this lighting." "We certainly haven't forgotten you, but it's not that easy to solve." "Sorry, I'm sometimes a bit sloppy in responding to emails." "We're really doing our best to solve it, but it's difficult." "We understand your frustration." "I thought I'd already replied to your email." "We've ordered new transformers and will come and try them out with you soon." "Indeed, time flies! But we're really working on it!" But still, no solution has been offered. In fact, a technician hasn't even come to take a look. And all this, even though we live just a stone's throw from the showroom. We've shown tremendous understanding (given the passage of a year and a half now) and been incredibly patient. (After all, it's a local business, you keep giving them chances, you keep trusting them, you don't want to push things too hard). But now we're so disappointed that we don't want to sugarcoat it any longer. Few customers would have accepted being strung along for so long, for something as simple as a few light bulbs. Replace the entire set if necessary (we suggested that too, but they didn't respond to that either). How exciting can it be; it's about 10 light bulbs... We had faith in the Van Houts company, we had faith in the Van Houts family of entrepreneurs. But ultimately, we're just deeply disappointed and want to protect others from this. Therefore, we strongly advise anyone looking for sun protection of any kind and who thinks Van Houts is the right place to do business with this company. The sales pitch is good, and frankly, the end result is too. But if something goes wrong, you're simply let down. It's a shame to ruin the good name of this family business. Not for us, anyway!

We had an appointment with Van Houts. They explained the differences between roller shutters very well. They listened carefully to our needs. We made clear agreements and the installation was quick. The staff were friendly and professional!
