I asked Johan to do a number of jobs for me: 1) service/repair my boiler, 2) fit a tap, and 3) fit some heater fans. My experience with Johan has been extremely difficult owing mostly to the constant lack of communication, and constant postponing of planned attendance due to him prioritising other customers (assumedly better paying jobs). Johan attended my property to look at the work to be done on 4 Feb 2022. I chased him on 13 Feb, 14 Feb, 24 Feb, 28 Feb before getting a response to attend on 16 Mar. He then cancelled the day before. We rescheduled for 31 Mar. He then cancelled the same day. Finally he came on 13 Apr (more than 2 months after his initial visit), but he only did 1 of the 3 jobs (boiler service). On 29 Apr, I had an electrical fault which I knew to require a qualified and well-equipped electrician which I said to Johan. Johan sent a handyman who didn't even have a multimeter or any other tools one would expect of an electrician. He could not fix the problem, and Johan said that he would attend himself w/c 9 May. He of course did not turn up, and he failed to communicate. He didn't even contact me to say he could not come. But then he did send an invoice charging 2 hours for the handyman's attendance which included 1 hour of travel time. I questioned how he feels he can charge me for 1) investigative work that he then failed to turn up to fix and complete the job, and 2) travel time when tradesmen typically do not charge this. Instead of apologising for not turning up as planned, and the lack of communication, Johan instead became defensive, and just said he was "too busy" with absolutely no consideration for the impact on me as a customer expecting him to turn up and fix a fault that was affecting my family's homelife but which we had worked around based on the scheduled plan we thought was in place. I explained that I cannot pay electrician after electrician to come and investigate the fault and then not turn up to fix it ad infinitum, as this would leave me paying for the same work multiple times, and never getting the problem fixed. However, he continued to insist that investigative work must be paid for despite not turning up to complete the job. He even claimed to have not promised to attend on certain dates despite messages in our chat history showing that he did. He also became condescending by telling me how companies work "nowadays" insofar as charging for travel time and urgent callout rates. He then became hostile and refused to do future work for me. I obviously did not intend to use him again anyway, but when I mentioned that I would post a bad review about his poor customer service, he threatened me with legal action ("libel and slander"). Suffice to say, I will not pay for an incomplete job, and I will certainly not use such an unreliable tradesman again.

Johan van Anrooij is the lead contractor, but together with Henri, they form a top-notch team. He also has a strong network of other professionals who are experts in their field. They are all dedicated, hard-working individuals who set high standards. Johan and Henri create a very pleasant atmosphere; they work hard, but there's also plenty of laughter. Problems are addressed and resolved immediately, always with excellent communication. They also met the deadline and were even able to carry out additional work. I would highly recommend Van Anrooij Montage en Installatie to anyone planning a renovation.

Johan and Henri have completed a number of projects for our new neighbors over the past year. They were very pleased with the quality of the work. We then invited Johan for a quote for the kitchen renovation and everything that entails. What immediately stood out during that initial conversation was their clarity and sharp technical insight. Ultimately, some additional work was added during the project, which was always communicated beforehand. Johan and Henri's attention to detail has resulted in very satisfied customers. We are very pleased with all the recommendations they made during the renovation. And that's how it should be: an open mind focused on the customer's interests, without any surprises later on. Should we have another renovation project or encounter a technical problem in the future, we will definitely know where to find Johan and Henri. Two top-notch professionals who take their work, and therefore their customers, extremely seriously. Kudos to them!

We had a new boiler installed by Johan and his colleague. We received a clear quote beforehand. The work went very well. They did a very neat job and were very responsive to our needs. We had a few questions afterward, which were answered quickly and efficiently. Highly recommended!
