Sorry, but if someone else drops a tree on your car, it's a total loss. Me, not my insurance (Unive) or anyone else's third-party liability insurance, is dealing with this damage and should be happy I can still drive the car. Unive is incredibly slow and does nothing. Imagine if I could no longer drive my car, then you have no transportation and you have to wait until everything is settled... shame on you if you have all your insurance policies here for more than €110 a month. You have to keep pursuing your claims yourself and you don't have a personal number for a claims handler. So, in total, I've spent five hours on this (menus, at least five questions to get through, waiting times like "I've got you there," etc.). In short, once this is all over, it's goodbye, Unive. You can't really drive after damage you didn't cause yourself... Nice comprehensive insurance. Another week has passed, only the information has been requested from the other party... nothing more. Oh yeah, it's also sent by mail, so it takes even longer. So why would I send you an email? Slow, slow process.

Communication leaves much to be desired. After damage to my vehicle, I could have followed up on everything myself. Univé doesn't even provide a brief update on the damage; I had to call constantly to follow up. The claims process also takes an exceptionally long time (almost 3 months), which, given the modern times, could be handled much faster, I think. I do have one area for improvement for Univé in 2026. In short, Univé's claims handling leaves much to be desired, unfortunately. It's a shame I have to give it one star.

Worthless insurer. I'll never cancel my contract again and I strongly advise everyone against ever taking out insurance with them. I had an accident on my vacation, and the Univeristy emergency response center literally did everything they could possibly do wrong. Afterward, I had to file a complaint. It was immediately clear that the woman handling the complaints was siding with the VHD emergency response center in Deventer. Her conclusion was: even though the emergency response center did everything they could possibly do wrong, after 100 phone calls from you, they still arranged for your car to be brought to the Netherlands and you to get a rental car, so you have nothing to complain about. To top it all off, my car sustained additional damage due to the incorrect actions of that same VHD emergency response center, resulting in it being declared a total loss, but according to the complaints officer, that wasn't relevant. The complaints officer also only requested a few notes for her complaint investigation into the VHD emergency response center. She wasn't interested in the recorded conversations. The complaints officer also lies in her report to cover up the mistakes of the VHD Emergency Center. Beware of this FORMERLY good insurer. STAY AWAY.
