Great experience! I've just rented my home via Ter Haar, everything went smoothly. They're professional and have a good portfolio updated regularly. Special thanks to Falck for his friendly and helpful assistance. He did a great job indeed, acknowledged my needs and helped accordingly. Highly recommend him!

I used Ter Haar Makelaars to purchase an apartment in downtown Amsterdam. The service was top notch. I dealt most of the time with Bart who I found very responsive, very knowledgeable and very attentive to my needs. For someone who has relocated to the Netherlands from overseas and who is not familiar with the Dutch housing market, Bart was kind enough to explain to me all the subtleties of the Amsterdam housing market. He is super knowledgeable about the area. I especially liked my interaction with Bart because he was not pushing to make a quick sale, but he was really looking for what is best for me as a customer. I have also interacted with other people in Bart's team like Raymonde and Falck. They were both very professional and prompt. It was a real pleasure interacting with such professionals. I am very happy to have found the perfect apartment for me.

Really bad experience with this company. I travelled over from London to meet them and they cancelled the apppointment on the day three times. On the final occasion, they lied to me over the phone more than once and made several promises they failed to keep. When I complained, they assured me this isn't they way they do business then continued to mislead me and waste my time. It was a completely wasted seven day trip to Amsterdam. Avoid these people, especially if you're not Dutch.

I was extremely happy with the diligence and service of Ter Haar Makelaars when selling my apartment in oud zuid. we managed to get almost 30 viewings and closed with a fair price. I would highly recommend this agency for either buying or selling properties in amsterdam. In my opinion, the most professional service and biggest reach and network in amsterdam.

If you’re an expat and new to Amsterdam or Netherlands, avoid this estate agent. Same applies if you’re a landlord and considering expat tenants. They played us along, dismissed us with false assurances on readiness of the contract (left us in the dark) since we gave the offer. Took them a week to show us the contract. We had no choice but to sign on the spot due to urgency of our personal issues. We didn’t get second opinion if the contract was fair and didn’t get the chance to provide our comments for changes. The check in was merely a key hand over and they did not prepare a detailed inventory list unlike what we had to do in the UK (as tenants) or France (us as landlords). We were ok the apartment isn’t perfect (but has potential) but the wear and tear, mould and rust etc and other visible effects were significant and m needed to be documented and agreed by both sides - that wasn’t done. We didn’t even do the meter reading. Unfortunately we now have to deal the issues with the landlord side directly and would hope for the best and most reasonable outcomes. Hopefully we’d grow to love the apartment like the first time we viewed it and make it our home in Amsterdam. But the entire experience with MTH is one filled with poor communication, expectation management and lack of reliability and trust. Also they were too proud to admit their shortcomings.
