This real estate agent doesn't even deserve a single star! We bought our house from this real estate agent. He was the seller's agent. An appointment was scheduled very quickly, and we were able to go the next day. He showed us around the house. We had plans to create a study in the front of the house. This required an extra door in the hallway. According to the real estate agent, this wasn't possible because it was a load-bearing wall. A lintel would have to be installed. After purchasing the house, our own investigation revealed that the old panel door was still behind the wall. Surely a real estate agent should have known something like that? After purchasing the house, it turned out that there were no earth leakage circuit breakers in the distribution board. And this is mandatory unless stated in advance. The real estate agent even advertises a "completely renovated meter box" in their sales brochure! They boast about their extensive experience and knowledge on their website and social media. Surely this real estate agent should have seen this too? We had a lot of trouble with this after the purchase. Ultimately, we reached an agreement with the seller. This real estate agent only forwarded emails to the seller. We never heard anything from him personally. There was a crack in a kitchen window. The real estate agent pointed it out to us during the tour. He said this was for the glass insurance. We thought it was the sellers' glass insurance. You'll make sure there's a new window installed when the house is sold, right? Not here; we were allowed to do that ourselves. During the tour, we noticed that the living room sofa was on a raised platform. We asked if this raised platform was loose and would be removed by the sellers. We were also assured that the floor went under the raised platform. During the inspection, it turned out that one part of this raised platform had indeed been removed. But the other part was still there, fixed, and the floor didn't extend under it. What poor information. Speaking of the inspection. That's the walk-through of the house before you sign at the notary's office. The real estate agent came flying in. He dove into the meter cupboard to check the gas and electricity readings. He asked if we could sign that these readings were correct. Then he rushed off to another appointment; he was in a hurry. It was a strange moment, both for us and for the seller. Later, when we sold our own house (with a different agent), we realized that it's normal for an agent to accompany us to the notary's office. After all, that's where they get paid! But this agent was too busy with a new project. That made everything seem like one big grab-and-go. You signed, and with that, he'd done his job for the seller. This agent fits the bill... quick-witted and chatty.
