The consultation went pleasantly, the measurements were professional, the delivery was on time, and the end result is a window frame we are very happy with. So why only 3 stars? Surely it should be more? During the preliminary stages, Schipper failed to mention that they reserve the right to leave their frame on your property for 10 working days (2 weeks). Not during the consultation or before the order was placed, but somewhere afterwards in an email. That is a ridiculously long period, especially in a street with significant parking problems in the evening. Your customer's property is NOT a storage yard! If you are able to schedule the delivery of a frame almost 4 weeks in advance, then you can also schedule at the same time (i.e., 4 weeks in advance) to pick up that frame 1, at most 2 working days later – and certainly no later. Various emails and phone calls were to no avail, and so we were stuck with that contraption in our front yard for 13 days, meaning the car sometimes had to be parked 2-3 streets away. That is the bitter aftertaste of an otherwise well-executed project, which is why my final rating cannot be 4 or 5 stars. My past experience is that other contractors were perfectly capable of cleaning up their mess within 1-2 working days, so Schipper Logistiek should simply be able to do the same. My advice: feel free to do business with this company; the quality of the window frames is more than fine, and the staff who handled the measurements and installation at my place were undeniably friendly and professional. However, do make a firm agreement immediately before awarding any contract that they will clear their materials from your property within 1-2 working days if they really want your order.
