After the theft of approximately €3,000 worth of items from a securely locked container near my house, I immediately filed a claim. A claims adjuster came by, inspected everything, and determined the damage amount to €1,250. Not the entire loss, but fine; I assumed it would be handled properly afterward. Then it went quiet. No news for weeks. Only after my insurance advisor inquired did I hear anything back. To my surprise, no payment, but suddenly a message that the damage wouldn't be covered after all. If the insurer believes there's no coverage from the outset, don't start the whole process with a claims adjuster only to then say no payout. That creates expectations that are then dispelled, and that could easily have been avoided by making this clear from the start. By then, I had already anticipated the compensation. My concern isn't the amount itself, but how the process unfolded: a long wait, no communication, and ultimately no results. I've now instructed my advisor to look for an insurer that handles these kinds of matters professionally.

Apparently, I had misdirected the first claim form. It was returned to me. After consulting with RISK, they allowed me to send a copy by email, even without a photo. Very customer-friendly from RISK.
