We ordered a double frame gate with wood infill. We agreed that the gate would open outward (on our own property) and be level with the property line wall. We also discussed removing the old gate. When they came to install it, they were almost ready to pour the concrete until we realized the gate would be too high. Otherwise, the gate wouldn't open because the tiles were higher up. Correct, the gate should also open outward, as discussed! Oh... and level with the property line, too. When we let the men get on with it, things went wrong, and they didn't even remove the old gate. They didn't verify the agreed-upon quote. During installation, they missed one of the two finishing strips. A sloppy job, but they followed up and fixed it. We called after two days, and they had mixed up the strips on different projects. They had to have them delivered again. Luckily, we hadn't paid half the total amount yet, as a last resort. After repeated contact and even a payment reminder, we indicated that we were still waiting and would not pay the full invoice until this was resolved. After a month and a half of installation, still no indication of when it would be delivered, we threatened legal action. Two weeks later, the strip was installed on the gate, and we transferred the payment. The gate is beautiful and eye-catching, but we are dissatisfied with the communication and customer service, which are lacking or the response is delayed. We understand that things can go wrong internally, but please keep your customers informed.

If you are looking for a company that fails to return calls multiple times, does not send quotes at the agreed time, and cancels appointments to install fencing on the day of delivery, then by all means come to Opheij hekwerken. Anything but professional.

Great service. The fencing was professionally installed. Friendly staff. One of the employees made sure it was delivered on the day it was supposed to be.
