We had Nick and his colleague visit us to clear a blockage. I was having a hard time predicting how that would go because of the mixed reactions. Clearing the blockage wasn't entirely smooth, but it was resolved well. I'm pleasantly surprised and would definitely call them again if there were any sewer problems. Called this morning, and just after noon, Leon arrived and cleared the drain from our kitchen sink of all the buildup, leaving everything neat and tidy. Unfortunately I could no longer shower at home because the water did not drain away. Nijhuis sewer cleaning came by, friendly man and I can now happily shower again :) ! understand in advance that the price is 99 euros for the first 30 minutes and if it is not ready then 26 euros per quarter, no x-amount per meter or call-out costs etc. and I did indeed pay 99 euros on the spot with a pin payment. Very dissatisfied with the way things went. A 45-minute job (almost entirely done by one person) was estimated on the quote as a four-hour job for two people. Then, on the invoice, the number of hours was adjusted to three hours, which they made it seem very reasonable. This was supposed to include call-out fees and the collection and removal of materials (a maximum of three pipes), but even with this extra effort, it doesn't even come close to three hours for two people. The invoice doesn't mention a fixed price agreement, and the terms and conditions don't specify how to handle reduced work. Nijhuis's contact person couldn't show where this was stated or simply didn't bother. The email correspondence about this was unprofessional: a response within five minutes that evening, no salutation, no name at the bottom of the email, and a rather unusual communication style. I'm not averse to paying for good work, but this method and communication are unacceptable in my opinion. I'm also very surprised by Nijhuis's response to this message below. Nothing was discussed beforehand about a fixed price or a cost-plus pricing. The quote also doesn't mention a fixed price agreement. Either that, or it was a different client. I could also post a screenshot of the email exchange to show how the communication went, but I'll leave it at that. Hopefully, Nijhuis's responses will give future clients a good impression of this company.
