My partner and I are in the process of purchasing our first house together, the process is entirely new and rather anxiety-inducing to say the least. The housing market is also still heated and that brings its own set of challenges as well. Hopma has been absolutely fantastic through-out the whole process, they have both the Realtor and the Mortgage adviser in the same office. We walked through the entire process from what mortgages we could get, what terms those might entail and use that information with our Realtor to find what houses suit our needs and wants. Rene was our mortgage adviser and he’s advised us greatly and reassured us every step of the way. Rutger has been our Realtor and likewise been incredibly resourceful, kind, detailed and reassuring through-out the whole process. During the house viewings we’ve had, Rutger would be checking and asking the right things. Allowing us to have a complete picture of what it is we’d be signing up for and from his perspective if that would be worth it or not. During the process Rutger has reassured us and given great advice and perspective that allowed us to have a winning bid to get a house. We’re now in the process of getting the mortgage with Rene, who’s been on-top of the whole process and given us the best advice for our situation. Both Rene and Rutger have been reachable through-out the process, for any questions, concerns or updates. Likewise the entire staff at Hopma has been very facilitating and welcoming. I would recommend Hopma in an instant to anyone buying or selling their home.

Poor communication through Rutger. On the second viewing, he arrived late without even letting us know. After a week of negotiations (due to delayed responses), our offer was accepted on January 16th, and we immediately started selling both properties. We both paid €1,100 per house for the start-up costs of selling our properties. On Friday, January 23rd, we suddenly received a call that another couple was interested and asked if we would stick to our offer. We said we would stick to our offer. He then didn't respond to the email we sent afterward, and four days later, we saw on Funda that the house was suddenly under offer. We haven't heard anything since. This is a strange turn of events.

We've been using Hopma's services for both buying and selling properties for several years now, and we're very satisfied with them. René from financial advice also helped us tremendously with finding a suitable mortgage back then, and more recently with a second mortgage for renovations. We can always contact him with questions, which makes you feel like you're not just a number, but taken seriously as a customer.

Although I'm a (commercial) real estate agent myself, the sale of my in-laws' house went through Hopman Real Estate. Because selling a home isn't comparable to selling commercial real estate, I was happy to leave it to a knowledgeable colleague. I'm very happy with how the agent, Thomas, handled the entire sale for the family. He also had excellent communication with the buyer, sincere and knowledgeable. Worth 6 stars in my opinion.👍

Pay attention to the square footage you're purchasing! Hopma was the selling agent for our old house in Groningen in 2016. We bought it under the assumption it had 90m² of living space. When we sold our house, we discovered it was considerably smaller. It wasn't a small margin, but almost 15 percent less. So, we didn't get the living space we expected and had to adjust our asking price. The selling agent is responsible for providing accurate information, and it's illegal to state it higher than the actual price. We raised this issue with Hopma by email. Their only response was congratulations on the excellent sale of our house and a statement that the insurance company was handling the matter. After some correspondence, the insurance company has stated that we suffered no damage. The dispute is still ongoing and they will post an update with the outcome. To date, there hasn't even been an apology, and communication has been difficult. Update 09-03-2021: After hiring a lawyer, we finally reached a settlement for the dispute. A star because we finally reached a resolution.
