Hilversum had snow and frost. Beautiful pictures, we see them so rarely these days. My mother always called it Christmas card weather. In the plumbing industry, no one thinks of cozy times. Code red, because frost + snow + thaw = misery. Like ours: the floor was white in the basement, where our central heating is. Stove off. House cold. Called the Baas company. "Yes, sir, but you're not the only one. We'll do our best tomorrow morning." Mmm. Only then. You understand, but you don't like it. "Can't we do it sooner?" An hour later, the Baas company calls. "We'll come this afternoon." And before dark, the house is warm again, the new central heating pump hums happily, the basement is dry. Baas above Baas. The company has outdone itself again.

Today (December 18, 2025), a technician from H. Baas serviced our propane fireplace, which we had installed four years ago for emergencies in case our heat pump broke down. The service provided by another company was so poor that we switched to H. Baas. This technician performed excellent maintenance, including thorough cleaning. Because the gas valve near the fireplace was difficult to turn on and off, the technician replaced it immediately. During connection, the connection was checked for leaks with a gas detector. During the test run, the gas was tested for copper monoxide. Afterwards, everything was left spotlessly clean. We hope to see this technician again in two years for the next service on our fireplace. He gets a perfect 10 from us, and he can go one better, as my father always said.
