A small roastery where I always receive a friendly welcome. If my son is with me and he has questions about roasting the beans, one of the gentlemen always explains it to him. Plus, the coffee is delicious. It's a good quality that we definitely appreciate.

For convenience, I also buy at the supermarket. Except once in a while, the taste is so-so. And then I buy the more expensive varieties. Last week, I simply threw away two bags. No aroma or flavor. I have a good grinder and espresso machine, and that simply requires freshly roasted beans. They have those at Kaan. I've never had inferior quality. Lots of varieties to try. They're professionals, and why choose mass production with no production date?

Coffee tasting at Kaan Koffie. Sunday morning. It was originally scheduled for the afternoon, but upon request, it was moved forward to early Sunday morning. Fine. But then I would have loved a cup of (Kaan) coffee as a welcome drink. Nada, nothing at all. Too bad, I had factored it into my coffee needs ;-) After a short presentation and a video about the growth of coffee beans—the subtitles of which were not really visible due to a shelving unit—we were invited to watch the roasting process. It was interesting to witness. I have no idea what was said; the coffee roaster was too loud. Or maybe they spoke too softly, which is also possible. We also gave this as a tip. Hopefully, they'll address this for the next group. Then came the coffee tasting... It was fun to do this once. And tasty? Let me put it this way, or rather, that's how it was put to me: tastes differ. I'll leave it at that. 4 stars for the ambiance, 2 stars for the (acidic) coffee. So, an average of three. And within an hour and a half, we were back outside. Looking for a coffee shop. Because we hadn't had a cup of coffee yet... The coffee we got "for free" tasted just as acidic at home. Sorry, these aren't my coffee beans. I prefer beans that have been roasted a bit longer and have lost more of their acidity. But as has already been said, tastes differ!

It was great fun to take a barista course here. It is small-scale, so don't expect a huge coffee roastery. There is a small shop with, of course, many different coffee beans and nice gift packaging. I had received a gift card to take a barista course here. I found it very interesting.
