Our experience with Hypotheekvisie started off positively. While looking for a house, we received support with bidding and paid for various valuation reports. This guidance was helpful and gave us the confidence to also handle the mortgage application through them. Unfortunately, the service went downhill from that point on. The appraiser arranged by Hypotheekvisie didn't show up because he called in sick at the last minute. We learned this from the estate agent while we were already on our way. This delayed the valuation by two weeks. In the meantime, we were advised to bid without reservations, but it turned out that we could ultimately borrow tens of thousands of euros less. The delayed valuation also meant that we were transitioning to the new 2025 terms and conditions, making switching banks impossible. Although we ultimately resolved the problem ourselves, it was certainly not thanks to Hypotheekvisie. Many problems could have been avoided if (1) the required documents had been clearly explained (such as a single salary slip instead of a complete monthly statement) and (2) Hypotheekvisie had carefully checked the documents provided, as we had explicitly requested. When we raised these points with them, we were told that it wasn't their responsibility to check everything and that we had sent "too many" documents. For €3,500 in consultancy fees, surely you should at least expect that documents are checked and that it's clearly stated what exactly is needed?
