Disappointed with Hummel Heemskerk – poor finish and poor aftercare We had our window frames replaced with uPVC by Hummel in Heemskerk. Unfortunately, the end result is very disappointing. During installation, there were frequent issues, which they promptly resolved, and there were also some additional issues on the roof after the dormer window was installed, which is, of course, very neat. But the problem lies in the interior finish. Without any consultation, they decided to leave the existing wooden interior frame in place, finished with a white strip and white sealant – while we have black window frames. This looks sloppy and cheap. My parents-in-law had uPVC window frames installed 15 years ago, and theirs were neatly finished with uPVC overlays. We expected the same, as everyone else with uPVC window frames. We received a quick, inexpensive strip solution. After installation, I contacted them about this via message, but they never responded. Later, I contacted them by phone about a window that needed replacing; they said they would discuss it internally. Since then: I haven't heard anything. No follow-up, no solution, nothing. I regret choosing this company. As soon as the work is done and they receive the money, their interest seems to have vanished. For the price you pay, you should expect a professional finish and good service. Unfortunately, we missed out on both. I therefore do not recommend Hummel. Look for a company that truly delivers quality work and takes its customers seriously – even after the job is done. Response to the owner: Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I want to emphasize that the information you shared here does not match our experience. Finish not discussed: It was never discussed with me or my husband that the finishing would be done with white lath, while the window frames were black. Nor was it discussed that we would have to paint them ourselves. We expected a professional finish, such as plastic trim. No consultation, no agreement: My husband was asked several times to sign for the work performed, but not for the final delivery. Therefore, there was never any agreement on the final finish. The signing was merely a confirmation of attendance and not a sign of complete satisfaction. No contact after a callback request: We've had a callback request for months. We called back ourselves and were told it would be "discussed internally." Unfortunately, we never heard from you again. We don't recognize your claim to have tried to contact us—we didn't receive a call. We find it unfortunate that you're reacting this way instead of actively considering solutions. Professional workmanship and proper aftercare should be a given, especially with an investment like this.
