They don't keep their promises. The owner makes promises that don't happen, and they're also considerably more expensive than others.

I don't normally write negative reviews, but in this case, I feel compelled to do so. Contact is completely avoided, even though I've tried several times to engage in conversation. Let me start by saying that there have certainly been times in the past when contact with Houwen was pleasant and smooth. But in this specific situation, I feel completely ignored and not taken seriously. Houwen sent a technician to my meter box without any consultation, a technician who happened to work in the same apartment complex. I was only informed of this afterward, even though travel expenses were included on the invoice. The technician subsequently only confirmed that the boiler was working – something I had repeatedly indicated. I never reported the boiler being broken; the problem is with the thermostat, as I clearly communicated from the start. Despite this, the invoice includes an hour and a half of work, even though the technician didn't actually resolve or investigate anything related to my report. To make matters worse, high service fees were charged, under the guise of my failure to show up for an appointment—an appointment I was never informed of. Moreover, the invoice contains derogatory language, suggesting I didn't bother taking time off for an appointment. This falsely creates the impression that I was negligent, presumably to make their side of the story seem more credible. I find this extremely reprehensible. When I explained this situation to my landlord and indicated that Houwen was charging me unfairly and deliberately recording incorrect information, there was no further communication. Since then, I've tried to contact them by phone and email several times, but they never respond. When I finally manage to reach someone, they keep promising to call me back—which never happens. Houwen doesn't send any emails themselves, but they keep sending payment reminders. Considering the internal miscommunication, the incorrect and misleading billing, and the way customers are described in official documents, it would behoove Houwen to cancel this invoice. Again, I'm not one to quickly complain through reviews, but right now, I feel like I have no other choice to be heard.

In 2019, we had someone from this company come to our home to inspect our meter box, and we were promised a quote for a new one. So far, we haven't received a quote, and they haven't responded to our emails. We didn't expect this from this company.
