Called this morning and the technician arrived this afternoon to fix a leak in our heating system. Excellent service and very customer-friendly.

Ask for a quote, someone comes to take a look, call back later, drive by again... "Seriously, you'll have an answer next week"... the appointment was for March 23rd. If you're too busy or think the job is too small, please let us know politely; "no" is also an answer. We've now found an installer who communicates effectively.

We also received a new central heating system through housing associations. However, afterward, someone from the energy watch had to come by three times because the thermostat was completely malfunctioning. It read 19 degrees Celsius, and you're burning through the roof. We received a truly faulty central heating system and thermostat, and it's still not working properly. The explanation the technicians gave after installation was also incorrect. They didn't take the time to get everything working properly. Bleeding wasn't necessary, they said, but it is necessary if the system is downstairs and the radiators are upstairs. We've heard many complaints from the neighborhood and are worried. I don't mind leaking water, but I can't bear the thought of gas leaking. Our energy consumption has also gone up instead of down. This is to be expected with a new system, but this could be due to the malfunctioning thermostat. It's all very unfortunate.

The central heating system was replaced this morning (17/12). After the installation, no explanation was given, and the heating wasn't working. The pressure was at 0.4 BAR. We called the housing association, and they sent Van Wijk to us again. The Van Wijk technician refilled the system. After half an hour, water sprayed out of the boiler, and the entire room was flooded. At one point, the pressure was at 3.7 BAR. The Energiewacht employee has now resolved everything for us and indicated that this was not good. Update 24/12: Today (one week later), Energiewacht had to come again. The boiler showed 0.4 BAR again. A different Energiewacht technician concluded that the boiler was not installed correctly. For example, a connector was installed, while the expansion vessel was no longer making a connection. Also, a pipe was not glued properly. He indicated that he does not understand how these kinds of mistakes are made by a company that installs central heating systems. Update 27/12: Energiewacht had to come by again. The inside of the boiler had become too hot due to certain settings. Another half day in the cold! In total, Energiewacht has visited three times now. All in all: a whole lot of misery!

Last year I called about a malfunction. Van Wijk suggested having his boiler cleaned. Unfortunately, I'm still struggling with the problem. I've now called a real company, and it turns out the boiler is leaking flue gases and should have been rejected. The problem turned out to be a simple sensor costing less than €20. So if you don't want to die, don't let Van Wijk take care of your boiler.
