I still feel guilty about recommending Bessems Real Estate for the sale of my mother's house in Kanne. Will de Jonge was incredibly enthusiastic and eager to handle the sale. This turned out differently, however, because the week after our agreement, Will de Jonge suddenly stopped working for Bessems Real Estate. What I find absolutely scandalous is that we were never informed of this. Will was our point of contact and was supposed to represent us in the sale of my mother's house. Perhaps forgotten? We're not talking about a bag of candy here, but about a house. A bad start. Afterward, the entire sale unfolded into one big drama, a series of extremely poor communication and numerous errors, too numerous to list. All in all, a very stressful experience for everyone, but especially for my 85-year-old mother. I would definitely not recommend this real estate agent.

Would I recommend this real estate agent? Absolutely not! In fact, I would strongly advise against this agency to anyone who asks my opinion. This agency sold my mother's house in Belgium. Initially, we dealt with real estate agent Wil de Jonge from the Bessems office, who was very eager to sell the house for us. His enthusiasm for the project convinced my mother to choose Bessems. However, when I went to drop off the keys at the office for the first viewing, I was told that Mr. de Jonge no longer worked for Bessems. The office hadn't informed us of this, and they couldn't tell me which agent would take over from Mr. de Jonge. After some persuasion on my part, I was given an email address where I could direct my questions. I emailed and, to this day, I'm still waiting for a response. On the day of the viewing, I waited in the building myself to see which agent would take on our assignment. From that moment on, Mr. Kornips was our real estate agent, but we lacked the commitment, advice, and expertise you would expect from a real estate agent. Even at the moment of the transfer at the notary, our real estate agent failed to comply... the energy label hadn't been submitted, and a file we weren't aware of was missing. We had requested a complete file review prior to the transfer, but the real estate agent didn't respond to that either. The buyer's notary withheld €5,000 from the purchase price until we could submit the file. A lot of stress for us and our 85-year-old mother. And from the real estate agent, no acknowledgement of their mistakes, no empathy, but an undeservedly generous commission. Even our ability to review the property on Funda was blocked by Bessems, which makes me wonder how much all those positive reviews actually mean if you block the negative feedback. I say "Erik Bessems real estate agency?!" NEVER AGAIN!!

This agency sold my mother's house. It only caused her and us (the children) a great deal of frustration. I could write a very long story about this, citing only examples of the sloppy or sometimes simply incompetent actions of Bessems Makelaardij. We found Bessems's attitude in this matter particularly disappointing. And if you wanted to share your experience on Funda, they even took that option away by disabling it for us. Even more disappointing. If only they were that quick in their communication. It's a shame we had a contract, because our trust quickly vanished. I would definitely not recommend this agency.

Erik Bessems doesn't measure the surface area of ​​the Sonnevijver houses and gardens. He then covers himself with the official deed of sale. Once you've signed, you can no longer hold Bessems or the notary liable. A tip for prospective buyers: measure the house and garden yourself before making the final purchase. Bessems is paid a substantial fee to sell the house, but as a real estate agent, he doesn't want to be required to measure it. Sad, but true.
