De Vries Robbé Makelaardij assisted us for the purchase of our apartment in The Hague. We chose them because they had sold our previous house very successfully many years ago. Our needs were very specific : not too far from public transports in order to reach HS and Centraal stations easily, but also, coming from Paris, a place that would be animated and residential at the same time. Alexander understood our needs perfectly and guided us through the visits with very useful comments and did not hesitate to tell us straightly when he thought the place was not appropriate for our situation. He never tried to force us in a situation, although the market is extremely tense and some apartments can disappear within days. I don't recommend to do the the visits by video though, because the reality can be very distorted and the disappointment as well. Dutch houses are very specific and you need to visit them to make your own idea and what type would suit your needs (ground floor only, dubbel boven, etc) Alexander advised us perfectly from the beginning till the end (4 months search and more than 20 visits) and was very patient ! He gave us a little tip to bid on the apartment we wanted and it worked ! We are very happy and hope to keep the contact alive after we move to The Hague ! We warmly recommend De Vries Robbé and Alexander !

✖️We had Alexander. Who was saying on the phone that he has 16 years of experience and in his professional profile in LinkedIn the years add up to less. All good. He sold himself nicely - he can do home visits without us videocalling, he has experience with expats (that is me but my husband is Dutch), he can go thoroughly through contracts and he can assist us in finding out dream home doing his best. We thought it was great! Since we live far from where we want to buy. However, disappointments started immediately after signing the contracts. Trying to reach him- not possible also when times were crucial. We always had to be present for home visits - while trying to make it work we always were rushed/pushed into being there despite his advertisement of doing it via videocalling. We were suggesting a visit for the second time if we liked the home but no. While trying to set up the move account the settings were off so we had to search via other sites too so to get new listings immediately. Despite "efforts" to be fixed it was never fixed and we were receiving houses that didn't match our criteria. Further, for houses we potentially liked and wanted to offer less than the asking price the answer was always negative "not to offend the sellers". Have in mind our offers were not far from the asking price. So there were always discussions on why we shouldn't go the way we wanted and put him into work for negotiations. There also was the feeling, from numerous discussions, that he wasn't working for us as buyers but for the sellers. In all cases. He did give some advice out of "personal experience" but was not helpful at all. Advising us to bid on a house that we factually believed would cost us more to fix so to stay. Additionally, he always was giving little time for his visits and consultations with us always rushing us despite the fact that we had to drive from far and sometimes with our baby. Finally, after not being able to book viewings cause we were seeing the house listings late and because bidding our own way was not accepted we went on the open house days to visit some. From this trip and research of my husband we were able to find our dream home. Again we had to think - why was he in favour of some realtors and not others? (Obvious reactions) Why was he saying "please ask questions" but we were cut off in front of the sellers' realtors as we were asking stupid questions? Finally, why was his selling point of being thorough with contracts (the most important part) it was never true? We had to correct the contracts for minor but important changes....such as money and dates. Concluding, the most expensive real estate agency that offers numerous house visits works hard to limit them, lead you to houses you never felt liking etc. He also left the notary when he wasn't needed anymore without a shake of hands despite the bad day that we had prior visiting the office and he was aware. Cold. As he thinks he should be in this profession. Despite his character the professionalism was lacking. He was confronted by many of the above but always being defensive and trying to "move forward for finding our dream home". That is, us continuing the hunting with our online search.... We don't recommend this realtor - the real estate agency should check it's team and quality of service.....
