Reading the latest reviews here can make you a bit hesitant. Ultimately, it's all about the quality of the home, so we rang the doorbells of five houses in Almelo to inquire about the quality. All five were satisfied with the homes, but the owners said communication could be better. We consider the quality of the home the most important, so we decided to have Huiskes build our house in Rijssen. I'll update this review in a year, once the house is finished; then I'll be able to give an even better assessment!

Despite the advice of those around me, I decided to do business with Huiskes. After the sales process, you're dealing with Eric Huiskes, an (as Rikus writes below) unpleasant person who can lose his temper at any moment and has no qualms about making physical threats and yelling at us and his own staff, even in the presence of children. I've heard from those around me that this wasn't a one-off incident. Promises are broken, agreements are lied about, and communication is very difficult. At times, communication was impossible at all, and progress updates were also lacking. Despite the beautiful photos on the website, several important aspects of the house were not professionally executed. Unfortunately, the contractor is unwilling to acknowledge or resolve this. My advice: stay away from this company and find a reputable contractor.

There is nothing positive to report about this company. We purchased a home in 2015 that was built in 2012 by Bouwgroep Huiskes in Tubbergen. After experiencing leaky gutters and other defects in 2015, this contractor did nothing to remedy the complaints; he just keeps stalling to avoid having to do anything. Now, in April 2020, we had the bathroom renovated by another party. After the bathroom was installed, we experienced severe leaks in the kitchen and meter cupboard, and the bathroom was broken open again twice. On two occasions, a hole was found in the existing drain that had been sealed with lead (see photo) during construction, as the installer of the new bathroom had not broken through there. Attempts to claim warranty are not answered, or they hide behind responses from a subcontractor.
