We had Van der Meer carry out a major (for us, a major) renovation. Demolition, construction, concrete, carpentry, and project management were all part of the process. Everyone was very involved in the process, and we are very pleased with how the renovation went. Everything went perfectly on schedule and was executed beautifully. The builders and carpenters worked incredibly hard, and the results are impressive. We will definitely have Van der Meer handle any future projects.

My Complaint Construction company Van der Meer from Sneek was supposed to renovate our house for a fortune and, for even more money, act as a supervisor for all the work. The owner suffered a burnout during the renovation, and his son, who, according to some of his employees, is not capable of running a construction company, took over the job. As a result, we are left with an unfinished house with numerous defects. The current owner, Jaap van der Meer, never responds to emails or phone calls, so nothing is being fixed. Our house is still not finished after the renovation. There are hundreds of issues that require attention, which the company has been aware of for a long time. I have built up a huge file, but Van der Meer prefers not to comment on anything. To name a few examples of shortcomings: The roof (which has been "renovated") is leaking in several places. Van der Meer took poorly painted louvered shutters back for rework, but they were never returned. Oak floors were laid with wood that was too wet, causing the glued planks to tear and creating gaps of several centimeters. Walls and bathrooms were poorly constructed, causing them to become damp and crack. Expansion joints made of cement instead of silicone sealant were damaged. Leaks at the skylights. Poor filler and paintwork. The bathroom drains were installed without a swan neck, quickly creating a stench throughout the house. ... and unfortunately, there are many, many other issues that, as Van der Meer has long known, require attention. Desired Solution I would like Jaap van der Meer to take responsibility and resolve the problem. Unfortunately, I no longer have any confidence in Van der Meer Construction and therefore proposed having damage, negligence, repairs, and any work yet to be carried out by third parties at Van der Meer's expense. Unfortunately, I never received a response to this request.
