I had a new house built by this contractor and I deeply regret it. Construction started in February 2022 and was completed at the end of May 2023. The house was ultimately delivered with a seven-month delay, and many outstanding issues were identified by the Homeowners' Association (Vereniging Eigenhuis). The final situation is that he refuses to resolve the remaining issues and threatens to escalate the matter. As a result, I have had to take legal action. The contractor is uncooperative and does what he sees fit without consultation. The communication is, to put it mildly, very poor! He doesn't keep his agreements, doesn't feel responsible for the work, and always tries to shift the blame to others. He makes promises to suppliers but doesn't fulfill his obligations. Subsequently, I received emails from the suppliers complaining about this man not paying invoices and refusing to finish the work or provide any services. The contractor took advantage of the frenzy of materials in the construction market. He repeatedly requested additional costs for materials that weren't included in the budget. If you didn't agree, the materials weren't delivered, and construction was halted. This led to me paying a significant additional charge for the insulation. It later turned out he had already received the insulation before then. He ordered a lot of materials late, resulting in higher prices. I also caught him ordering more materials than necessary at my expense and then keeping a lot of them at his workshop for later maintenance or for another job. His team consists of six people, but they have internal disputes. It's so bad they refuse to work together on a construction site. The construction process was very long and difficult because of all these issues. I'm still trying to resolve the contractor's mess and haven't been able to move yet. As a result, I've been paying double the costs for 12 months. In short, don't do business with this contractor if you don't want to be ripped off.
