My husband and I had a viewing with one of the agents who unfortunately treated us very poorly. From the moment we entered the house his attitude towards us was not welcoming, to put it mildly. And it is because we had no choice but to bring our kids to the viewing as we could not find anyone to babysit them. The agent was making comments about our kids (being the reason for him not wanting to have kids of his own) and giving us and our kids commands like: "do not touch this, it is very expensive!", "do not hang on this!". Some of the commands were made before we even entered the space. At some point the agent shouted: “take the kids downstairs!”. At the time I thought I must have misunderstood him so I just ignored his comment. 10 minutes into the viewing when my two-year-old daughter wanted to sit on the bench next to the bed and the agent shouted at her: "get off the bed!!!". A +30 year-old man, a total stranger, shouting at a two-year-old, it just blows my mind how an adult can behave like that. There is not a single excuse that you can use to explain how the agent is not capable to address his issues he clearly had with our kids being present at the viewing, to us, also grown-ups. But instead, he chose to shout at our kid and continued with his behavior towards me after my husband informed him that we are finishing the viewing because of the agent’s unprofessional attitude. The tone was rude and the words he used were just unacceptable. We had other viewings in the past where we also had to bring our kids to, and all the agents were more than welcoming to us and understanding of the situation (believe it or not, such situation is also stressful for a parent!). So what happened next, my husband removed the kids from the house and wanted to go back to speak to the agent about what had just happened. But the agent was not willing to speak to us as he locked himself in the property and did not open the door anymore. We have a witness of this sad situation because we brought our own agent to the viewing. If you are considering Avenue ‘t Gooi Makelaars to be your selling agent I strongly advise you to reconsider. We were serious about putting a bid on the house yesterday but after having such unpleasant experience we will of course not do that. We had another house to view soon, also listed by Avenue ‘t Gooi Makelaars, but have decided that we don’t want to see it, as we don’t want to risk being treated badly again. I do understand that it might have been difficult for the agent to handle the situation as the kids were very busy, but my husband and I tried to do everything in our power to make it least disruptive. There are many other ways the agent could have handled the situation but unfortunately, he chose to be disrespectful and very mean making hurtful comments about and to my kids and to me and my husband. We have reported this incident to the owner of the agency who did not seem to understand the issue and rather blamed our kids for being busy. We have received no apology. That is why I have decided to leave the review.

I recommend them to anyone planning to sell or buy a house.

What a wonderful experience! From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed with so much kindness and warmth.
